William Salmon

Senior Partner & Co-Founder

William has been in the employee benefit business for 20 years with experience in all aspects of the industry and is a co-founder of Progressive Benefit Solutions.

His career began with MetLife where he went through extensive training in underwriting, customer service and claims adjudication.  After completion of group school he became an Account Executive and focused on the sales and service of group medical, dental, life and disability.  

After several years with MetLife, William joined Cameron M. Harris & Company, a large regional brokerage firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina.  His responsibilities included managing the employee benefit division for eastern North Carolina out of the Raleigh office.  Cameron M. Harris was later acquired by Wachovia Insurance Services.

In 1998 William co-founded Progressive Benefit Solutions, LLC where he is a Managing Partner today.  Over the past 10 years William has helped take Progressive Benefit Solutions from a start up to one of the leading employee benefit consulting and brokerage firms in North Carolina.  

William is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Business Management.  He has been involved with several broker advisory councils of large national insurance carriers. He is a member of the NC Health Underwriters as well as the National Association of Health Underwriters.  He is also an active member of the community volunteering through the Wake County Boys & Girls Clubs, The Salvation Army and The Knights of Columbus.

Lastly, William serves on the Board of Advisors for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Government Affairs Board for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and the Wake County Economic Development Board.
